Links of Interest
We have highlighted some of our favorite web sites in the materials, plastics and optics fields. Give them a spin!
As a major user of GE's optical grade Lexan (Polycarbonate) in our injection molding operation, we recommend several GE links, further information on the GE Lexan product line useful in product design and specification, the detailed Lexan datasheets, design tools, and GE's list of favorite plastic industry links.
Information on optical grade acrylic can be found at the Cyro site.
Notable plastics industry links include Injection Molding Magazine's site with economic analysis, industry outlooks, and tricks of the trade; and The Society of Plastic Engineer's site with books, technical publications and other resources.
In the optics field, a good source for technical information is the SPIE optical engineering site. This site also has an optics events calendar and links to optics related standards such as ANSI and ASTM.
Another good site for technical information on optics and photonics is sponsored by the Optical Society of America.
For engineers interested in issues and developments in the medical devices and products field, Devicelink.com targeting the medical OEM market is worth a look. This site has a useful search engine allowing research across several publications.
You can also see highlights from a recent presentation on lense design and optics that Jim LeBlanc of Fosta-Tek made to the U.S. Army.
